California Association of Health Careers Educators (CAHCE)
A statewide organization comprised of dedicated educators and health care industry representatives that are truly committed to the preparation of a qualified health care workforce. CAHCE ?s mission is to improve the quality of career preparation and education, provide professional growth opportunities, networking, leadership, advocacy, and support for Health Careers Educators throughout California.
 
California Career Pathways Consortia (CCPC)
Five individual consortia/projects that have been involved in Career Technical Education and Tech Prep for a number of years: Agriculture Project at Modesto Jr. College; Business Project at Allan Hancock CCD; Health Services Project at Kern High School District; Engineering Project at American River College; Industrial & Technology Project at State Center Consortium. The mission of the CCPC is to provide a variety of services, products and technical assistance to providers of career opportunities and education.
 
California Health Occupations Students of America (Cal-HOSA)
A student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. Cal-HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition exclusively for secondary, postsecondary, adult, and collegiate students enrolled in health occupations education programs. HOSA is 100% health care! Membership in HOSA is restricted to health occupations students.
 
Health Care Foundation Standards
Represents the skill and knowledge, both academic and technical, necessary to pursue a full range of career opportunities within the cluster from entry level to management, including technical and professional career specialties.
 
Health Care Foundation Standards Assessment
A Computer Adaptive Test (CAT), available through www.nchste.org. This assessment will provide a certificate for students who pass both academic and technical skills necessary to pursue a full range of career opportunities within the health care cluster, including technical and professional career specialties.
 
 
Kern Health Careers Resource Center (KHCRC)
A statewide resource center that supports health careers education through technical assistance, professional development opportunities, resource documents, career path marketing materials, and summer Educator Internship Institutes. Valuable resources for educators, students and health care industry partners are available through the Kern Health Careers Resource Center website.
 
National Consortium on Health Science & Technology Education (NCHSTE)
The National Consortium on Health Science and Technology Education is a national partnership of individuals and organizations with a vested interest in health science and technology education. The mission of the Consortium is to shape and influence national policy on the preparation and employment of health care personnel. The purpose of the Consortium is to continue to contribute to effective and efficient delivery of health care and preparation of a qualified workforce through fostering collaboration among education agencies, the health care community, policy making bodies and labor.

Andrew Hill Medical Magnet
School-to-school mentoring ? mentor a neighboring high school to proliferate the Magnet program on San Jose?s economically challenged east side.
 
East Bakersfield High School
School-to-school mentoring ? provide a mentoring role through onsite technical assistance and resource provision to three (3) local high schools in curriculum integration, academic/vocational coordination, business partnerships, internships, authentic assessment and links to higher education.
 
Lower Lake SERVE Academy
School-to-school ? assist a partner site in establishing a health career path or components of a path, specifically, in the area of integration. Simply by integrating a theme or a work-based learning experience into the curriculum, students are able to see the relevance of their education
 
Palmdale High School Health Careers Academy
Cal-HOSA mentoring ? strategies to increase the number of HOSA chapters within a three hundred mile radius of the school. CAHCE mentoring ? strategies to increase membership in the statewide professional development organization ? California Association of Health Careers Educator (CAHCE).
 
Seaside High School Health Professions Academy
Health Care Industry- school site mentoring - develop a replicable model and training for sites wishing to establish a mentoring program for students interested in a career in health care, connect the student with a ?caring? adult who can serve as a professional role model to the student by providing guidance, workplace exposure, academic support, and encouragement.
 
Stockdale High School MASH
School-to-school ?develop resource document for other schools in California to implement a successful career path and develop a viable HOSA chapter to enhance career technical education. Document highlights include importance of administrative support, continuous professional development, and interdisciplinary curriculum. This will provide detailed information on how to coordinate activities with HOSA?s national and state organizations, plus how to recruit and motivate members.
